THE STIGMA ON WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH





Women’s mental health is a highly stigmatized problem in the United States. Many women avoid getting help because they do not want to be seen as ”crazy.” What many women don’t know about women’s mental health is that having an anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is not as uncommon as it was once thought, nor is it a death warrant. There are so many treatment options available for women’s mental health issues, and it is in one’s best interest to go see a women’s mental health professional if they are feeling uneasy about any part of their women’s mental Health.

Women are very strong individuals who deal with many natural changes during a lifetime such as pregnancy, menopause and the monthly inconvenience of the menstrual cycle.
